You’ve probably heard the saying when life hands you lemons make lemonade. It may sound silly but it’s a pretty good mantra to live by.
Not all things in life go to plan, actually most things in life don’t fully go to plan. But that is ok, it just depends on your perspective!
“There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so…” Hamlet
Studies have proven that happiness makes you successful rather than success makes you happy.
You have a choice to be happy or not! You have a choice to be thankful or not. However, no matter what is going on for you, the alternative to being happy and thankful is not that desirable.
God wants what is best for us. It doesn’t mean nothing will go wrong. However, He wants us to the make the most of any situation.
Even if you can only muster a mustard seed size of thankfulness, happiness or joy, it can help turn a negative into a positive. The smallest amount of positivity or thankfulness is beneficial because of the concept of the ‘Aggregation of Marginal Gains’ ... consistently doing small positive things adds together to create large impacting gains. This concept can be used in all facets of our life ... with study, work, sport, happiness! Consistency, positive choices and being thankful all add up to the end result. What do you want your end result to look like?
Next time life throws you a curve ball or gives you a bucketful of lemons, what are you going to do?
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19
