Congratulations Year 12

“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” Henry Ford
Congratulations to our Year 12 Class of 2019. This week marks them officially finishing the routine of school life as they have known it for many years. While the rest of the school has a lovely break at the end of this week, it becomes one of the most hectic times of study for our Year 12’s. They will (hopefully) use this time wisely as they gear up for their final preparation in readiness for their looming HSC examinations.
To all of our students, but especially our current Year 12’s, Henry Ford’s saying above represents how much a positive attitude can help in determining success or failure in any particular project or aspect of life, including examination results.
Mindset is a powerful phenomenon and it can potentially make or break a situation. Henry Ford had two epic fails, including bankruptcies, before he finally achieved success with his Model T Ford. Although the cars were a success at first, they were not affordable to buy. So a new challenge presented itself to make the car more affordable. Rather than giving up, Ford’s can do, positive attitude created a way to produce the cars more cheaply using an unheard of revolutionary ‘production line assembly method’ to reduce the overall cost of each car. His quote inspires us to never give up, no matter what … to keep going, to have a strong sense of belief and strive to do our best.
God created us with the ability to be positive and proactively work to make things happen with His support. Philippians 4:13 states “For I can do all things though Christ who gives me strength.” So make the choice to be positive, let God strengthen us and help us know that we can achieve. Don’t let negative thinking limit our possibilities.
Jennifer Foster stated in Wall Street Insanity Journal that “It is only when the reality of what we think we CAN do becomes greater than the reality of what we cannot do that results begin to manifest.”
So, what do you THINK you CAN do? Indecision wastes time. Time is too valuable to waste. Henry Ford observed that “most people get ahead during the time that others waste.”
Do you want to waste time and simply give up?
Alternatively, you could confidently follow Ford‘s lead and reject the ‘t’ in can’t.
Think that you can … for you are right!
