Music Program

With research indicating active musical involvement has a positive effect on young minds, helping children do better academically, music is an integral component of Avondale School. An imaginative curriculum offering a range of creative musical experiences encourages every child to connect with music and find their own unique voice.

Music is taught in class from Kindy to Year 8, with a number of private tutors also available for extra in-school and after-school tuition on a broad range of instruments.

Avondale School also provides many opportunities for students to further pursue musical talents through involvement in the three Avondale School bands, two choirs or three string ensembles.

A large dedicated Music Building is home to Class Concerts, Secondary Music lessons, Music Exams, Private Tuition and Drama performances.

Both the Junior and Intermediate Bands provide strong foundation and experience in performing as part of an ensemble. Students transition from Junior through Intermediate to Senior Band.

School Choirs
