Our annual Careers Connect evening was held on Tuesday this week, bringing together students, parents, alumni and industry professionals for a vibrant and engaging event.
The evening featured a broad range of institutions alongside guests representing a diverse range of careers, businesses, and industries. There was a wonderful sense of energy throughout the building, with a real hum of conversation as students and families connected with professionals and explored future pathways.
Many students took advantage of the opportunity to speak directly with people working in their areas of interest, gaining valuable insights and advice. These conversations were supported by the presence of key training providers, including the University of Newcastle, Avondale University and TAFE, helping students better understand the qualifications and pathways required.
A highlight of the evening was a keynote from Angela Michel, a former radiographer and Avondale School alumna. She encouraged students to focus on making a positive contribution to the world and to remain open to opportunities that come their way.
With strong attendance from both students and parents, the evening was a valuable and encouraging step in helping students consider their future with confidence.
