Early Learning Centre

Avondale Early Learning Centre (ELC) is a warm, inclusive and nurturing setting for young children aged 3-5, as their introduction to formal education. This exciting and engaging learning environment allows young children, along with their families and teachers, to work together to develop foundational skills, not only for a successful schooling journey, but to ensure a successful, balanced and happy life. The educational program has been Rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standards, which means standards go above and beyond the regulatory and educational requirements for Education and Care services in Australia. The ELC team work in partnership with parents and caregivers to ensure children feel safe, secure and provide a sense of belonging, so their individuality can shine.

Acknowledgement of Country

We believe “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, all that is seen and all that is not seen. God created Humans in his own image and gave them the responsibility of protecting and caring for the land and for every single living aspect of his creation.” (Genesis 1)

We acknowledge You Lord because we believe You are the Architect, Provider and Leader of Your creation, the universe and beyond.

We also respectfully acknowledge the Awabakal People of the Awabakal Nation and we recognise them as the Traditional Custodians of this land that Avondale Early Learning Centre stands on today.  We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge that they have cared for Awabakal Country since time immemorial.

We recognise the continuing contribution that the Awabakal People make to the life of this region. We pray that we can educate our children to know more about the

Awabakal Nation and therefore work together to leave a legacy of reconciliation, justice, connection and hope for all future Australians.

Created in consultation with Sue Hodges (Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander liaison - July 2022)

“To say that every child and family is unique is an understatement! Being able to be in a profession where I can connect with children and families on an individual basis is an amazing motivator. It drives my passion to collaborate with you to create an environment that ensures your child can have access to an “Exceeding” level of early childhood education. Our team believe that each family deserves to experience a sense of belonging to our centre, knowing that you are valued and will be supported to help your child to reach their potential by setting the right foundations for life.” — Flavia Butler, Director
