Cobar STORMCo Trip

Secondary News - Aug 02, 2024

Students from Avondale School recently set out to run STORMCo in Cobar for the 26th consecutive year. Avondale has an incredible legacy in Cobar and has built strong relationships in the community. Our team of 31 students plus an incredible group of staff was welcomed back for 2024 with enthusiasm and excitement. Students who attend this trip give up a portion of their school holidays and contribute financially. They also sign up knowing they will be asked to stretch themselves and do hard things. This year our senior students really showed their capacity for leadership, growth and new challenges. Each morning students ran a kids club at Cobar Public School which included craft, face painting, balloons, singing and games. In the afternoons students rolled up their sleeves and worked hard on community service jobs around Cobar. This year’s trip featured so much singing that people lost their voices, a fun visit to local emergency services and some meaningful relationships built with the community kids.
