Holy Ground

The View - Aug 21, 2026

This week, our Secondary Campus has had the privilege of coming together for Week of Worship. It has been a meaningful time of worship, teaching, reflection, and connection as we have turned our hearts and attention towards God.

Throughout the week, Pr Tema has shared powerful messages about what it means to live on holy ground. We sometimes think of holy ground as a particular place like a church, a chapel, or a specific space where we gather to worship. But the reality is that God’s presence is not confined to one location. Wherever we go, we can encounter God. Our classrooms, homes, sporting fields, playgrounds, and communities can all become places where we recognise that God is with us.

This connects to the heart of God’s story throughout Scripture: God’s desire has always been to be with His people. From the beginning, God has been drawing near, making His presence known and inviting people into relationship with Him. WOW has been a wonderful opportunity for us to remember that we don’t simply meet with God in a particular place or at a particular time, we can meet him wherever we go.

One of the highlights of this week has been seeing our students actively involved in leading our worship gatherings. From leading worship and music to hosting, praying, and helping create an environment where our school can engage with God, our students have stepped up and served with enthusiasm and commitment. What we have seen on stage this week represents so much more than what happens during each worship session. Behind the scenes, students have given a significant amount of their time in the lead-up to WOW; rehearsing, preparing, organising, practising, and working together to make each gathering meaningful. Their commitment to serve and use their gifts has been a real encouragement to our whole school community.

As we reflect on WOW, our hope is that the message of this week stays with us long after the final worship session. May we continue to recognise God’s presence in the ordinary places of our lives and remember that wherever we go, we are standing on holy ground.

And may the commitment, courage and service of our students continue to inspire our entire school community to live lives that point others towards God.
