On Tuesday, some of our Primary Student Leaders visited Ronald McDonald House in New Lambton, near John Hunter Hospital, to see firsthand the incredible work they do supporting families during some of life’s toughest seasons.Last term, our students organised a student-led fundraiser, and this week they proudly presented a donation of $2,720.60 to Ronald McDonald House. Their contribution will be recognised with a special Avondale School plaque on the charity’s ‘Tree of Love’ in the foyer.Along with the cheque, students also delivered hundreds of handmade cards filled with affirmations, jokes and heartfelt messages from across our whole school, reminding families that they are loved, supported and not alone. Staff at Ronald McDonald House were deeply moved and plan to distribute the cards throughout the hospital and share them with families in Ronald McDonald House to brighten their days.It was a beautiful moment of service, generosity and compassion. A chance for our student leaders to see the real impact of their efforts and to live out Avondale’s values in action.
