This term our Chapels have seen students engaging with meaningful and connected themes. In Primary Chapel the focus has been 'Walking on Sunshine', exploring how God’s presence brings light into our lives, filling us with hope, joy, and direction each day. Students have been encouraged to see that even in challenging moments, God is with them, guiding their steps and helping them to walk confidently in His love.
In Secondary Chapel, we have been exploring the theme of 'Rebrand', looking at how identity, purpose, and direction can be transformed. Throughout the Bible, we see powerful examples of people who were rebranded or renamed as part of God’s bigger plan. Abram becoming Abraham, Saul becoming Paul, these changes were more than just new names, they represented new beginnings, renewed purpose, and lives redirected toward something greater.
At the centre of it all is Jesus Christ, who didn’t just rebrand individuals, He rebranded everything. Jesus challenged what people thought they knew about faith, power, love, and forgiveness. He turned expectations upside down, showing that true greatness comes through humility, that love extends to everyone, and that grace is available to all. He redefined what it meant to follow God not through rules alone, but through relationship, compassion, and a transformed heart. In doing so, He invited people into a completely new way of living that was centred on love, grace, and truth.
On this Easter long weekend, this message becomes even more powerful and personal. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus didn’t just change ideas, He rebranded what people thought they knew about life, hope, and even death itself. What once seemed like the end became the beginning, what looked like defeat was revealed as victory. Jesus showed that death does not have the final word - life does. In rising again Jesus brought new life, restored hope, and show what a life filled with purpose could be.
So however it is that you celebrate Easter, I hope that you get to eat lots of chocolates and enjoy lots of good food. I hope you’re surrounded by families, friends and loved ones. I hope it’s a time of peace, rest, and relaxation. But most importantly, I hope it’s a time where we can reflect on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who brings new life and lasting hope to us all.
May this Easter be an opportunity to focus on His love, to reflect on what He has done, and to be reminded of the hope we have because of Him.
