Ride4Rescue

Secondary News - Mar 04, 2022

19 students and 3 teachers joined a team of 45 riders and 28 support crew for the adventure of Ride4Rescue 2022. This year a record combined total of $85,000 was raised for the two charities - Restore One, the school in Cambodia that Avondale School has been supporting since 2013, and the ADRA Blossom Project in Vanuatu which provides support and education to reduce domestic violence and teenage pregnancies.

The ride from Canberra to Mt Kosciusko was 400km of off-road mountain biking through beautiful alpine country. The challenges included steep hills, wet weather, brumbies and 4WD difficulties for the support drivers.

It was fantastic to be part of the support team and see the resilience of the students, the creative problem solving, the mentoring by older, experienced riders and the beautiful camaraderie of the team.

Registrations for 2023 are now open. www.ride4rescue.org All riders under 18 will need to have a parent/ guardian riding with them. A big thank you to our major sponsors: Avondale School, Sanitarium and Amcal Pharmacy Kanwal.
