Congratulations to our students who competed in the 2026 CORC ACT Secondary Schools' Mountain Bike Championships at Mount Stromlo last Friday. Avondale School was proudly represented by seven teams across the Junior, Senior and College categories, with our riders showing great determination, resilience, and teamwork throughout the day.
A special congratulations to our Senior Female Team, The Williams', who achieved an outstanding 2nd place overall, completing 9 laps in 4:03:01. Ingeborg B recorded an impressive fastest lap of the whole Senior Female division in 21:22.Our College Female Team, Wiggly Peddles, finished 4th, while the College Male team, Avondalians, finished 7th. The Senior Male Teams also performed strongly, with The Bashers finishing 11th and All The Gear 23rd. Tommy B recorded the fastest Avondale School lap of the day in an excellent 17:58, as well as winning the Wheelie Comp travelling over 300m on one wheel. Our Junior Teams also embraced the challenge, with Mason and the Rest finishing 28th and NCN 48th. The riders were blessed with fantastic weather, making for a wonderful day of racing and competition.
A huge thank to Mrs Upton who came along and supported our riders, to Canberra Christian School for generously providing accommodation, and to our teachers who gave their time to accompany, supervise, and encourage the students.Well done to all our riders — we are very proud of the way you represented our School!
