Thursday was the HRIS Swimming carnival where many of our small team swam between 3 and 7 events. The fun and enthusiasm from Monday's carnival was still evident. We had the biggest crowd of supporters, siblings, parents and grandparents whose cheers and shouts of encouragement were heard across the pool. A big thank you to all who came to support and especially the volunteer parents who timed races. Special mention to the 13 Year Boys, 15 Year Boys, 17 Year Girls and the 18 Year Goys and Girls age groups who won the most points for their age group. Congratulations to both Jai L and Mia W for being HRIS Age Champions. Through the efforts of the whole team Avondale School won the Division 2 HRIS Swimming Carnival and will move up to Division 1 next year! Special acknowledgement to our senior students who have set a great example of commitment and sportsmanship for the younger swimmers to live up to.
