Last Friday our Secondary students competed in the HRIS Swimming Carnival. Although we had a smaller team this year, the enthusiasm was outstanding, with many students competing in between three and seven events. Our swimmers were well supported by a wonderful crowd of siblings, parents, and grandparents whose cheers echoed across the pool throughout the day. Thank you to everyone who came along to support the team, and to the Avondale University students who generously volunteered their time to assist on the day.
Despite a strong and determined effort from our team, Avondale School will move to Division 2 next year. We would particularly like to acknowledge our senior boys, who set an excellent example of commitment and sportsmanship for our younger swimmers to follow.
