Secondary Hunter Volleyball Tournament

Secondary News - Sept 13, 2024

Our Under 15 Girls and Senior Boys volleyball squads attended the Hunter Volleyball Invitational tournament held in Newcastle on Wednesday. This is the first tournament for our Under 15 Girls since they started their campaign at the start of the year. The girls had a draw and two awesome wins leading into the semis. Unfortunately they went down, and progressed to the bronze medal match, again going down in a tough game. Regardless of the results, the girls had an amazing day and showcased quality skill, gameplay and sportsmanship. The Senior Boys started the day off with a tough loss going down two sets, but then played well to secure two wins to progress to the gold medal match. In a much anticipated game, it was back and forth with St Phillip's Christian College who showed amazing talent. Fortunately, our Senior Boys were able to pull together a wonderful team performance to win the gold!Thank you to each student for representing our school and putting in a massive effort. A big thank you to our coaches for the effort they have put into training our students. We go again next term at HRIS Volleyball. Awesome achievement.
