We were delighted to host our Secondary School Swimming Carnival at Wyong Olympic Pool on Monday. Despite the day starting off cool with a bit of wind, conditions gradually improved and warmed up towards the back end of the carnival, creating a great atmosphere for racing and participation.
It was fantastic to see a large number of students attend the Carnival, proudly dressed in their House colours and actively supporting their peers. While participation on the day was strong, we would like to encourage all students in future years to get involved in events, as every race and activity contributes valuable points towards their House’s overall total. Participation is key to building House spirit and plays an important role in the overall House points competition.
A major highlight of the Carnival was the relay events, where students collaborated, swam hard for their teams, and demonstrated outstanding teamwork and house spirit. It was also great to see staff join in, testing the students and adding to the energy and enjoyment of the day.A special mention goes to Dylan J (Year 10), who delivered an outstanding performance by breaking a 20-year record in the 16 Boys Breaststroke, recording a time of 35.93 seconds. Congratulations also to the Macquarie Junior Boys, who broke the Medley Relay record with an impressive team effort.
We would also like to acknowledge our House Captains for their excellent organisation, teamwork, and leadership throughout the day. Thank you to our teachers for creating such a positive and encouraging environment, our parents for coming along to support our students, the PDHPE team for their organisation and leadership of the event, and Wyong Olympic Pool for hosting us and providing an excellent venue.
Final Carnival Results:
Pacific – 1117 points
Watagan – 1327 points
Macquarie – 1880 points
Hunter – 1942 points
