Vision Check-up

The View - Feb 17, 2023

When visiting the optometrist, it is always confronting how much each line seems to be slipping out of reach as the years go by. Not sure if anyone else has been tempted to memorise the lines, so one could pass the test with ease every time?

We know it's easier to see and have clear vision to navigate a path before us. Do we consistently re-evaluate the vision we have set for our life? A vision is a clear and compelling idea of what we want to achieve in the future. It provides us with a sense of direction and purpose, and motivates us to take action towards our goals.

In the context of education, having a vision is particularly important. Students who have a clear vision of their academic and personal goals are more likely to be motivated and focused in their studies. They are also more likely to make the most of their educational opportunities, and to develop the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their aspirations.

However, having a vision is not enough on its own. It is important to have a plan to achieve that vision, and to take action towards our goals. This involves setting realistic and achievable targets, and breaking them down into smaller steps that can be taken one at a time. By taking consistent action towards our goals, we can build momentum and move closer towards our vision.

Setting personal goals, having a shared vision as a school community can also be a powerful motivator. When students, teachers, and parents work towards a common goal, they can create a strong sense of unity and purpose for the growth of a child. This can lead to a more positive and productive learning environment, and can help to foster a culture of excellence and achievement.

Having a vision is a crucial aspect of achieving success. When was the last time you had a vision check-up? Maybe it's time to sit with a piece of paper and start to dream of what could be and make a plan.

"The plans of the diligent lead to gain." Proverb 21:5
