Year 10-12 Paul Dillon Sessions

Secondary News - May 15, 2026

Paul Dillon, Director of DARTA (Drug and Alcohol Research and Training Australia), presented to our Year 10, 11 and 12 students this week, continuing a valued partnership that has been part of the Avondale community since 2012.

Widely respected for his evidence-based and engaging approach, Paul shared the latest research and current information surrounding drugs, alcohol and risk-taking behaviours, equipping students with practical knowledge to make safe and informed choices.

Throughout the day, our students were highly engaged, asking thoughtful questions and interacting respectfully with the presentations. We are proud of the maturity and interest they demonstrated during these important sessions. We encourage families to continue the conversation at home by asking students what they learnt and what stood out to them from the presentations. These discussions play an important role in reinforcing positive decision-making and student wellbeing.

We sincerely thank Paul Dillon for the outstanding work he continues to do, not only for Avondale students, but for young people in schools across Australia and internationally.
