The Year 11 Geography class embarked on a field trip to Port Stephens last week, on Thursday and Friday. There were extreme weather warnings for Thursday, and although this altered our morning plans, we were fortunate to be able to engage in fieldwork activities for the rest of the trip. The ecosystems that were investigated included rock platforms and wetlands. The natural processes were discussed and photographed in preparation for the student’s assessment on Earth's Natural Systems. The students also enjoyed some tourist activities, such as a whale-watching cruise and a camel ride on the dunes, as examples of human interactions with the environment.
