Students last week spent a week in industry for their respective VET courses: Hospitality and Construction. Students had a great week developing their culinary and carpentry skills in a range of local businesses. Students completed a full week's work performing a range of jobs from cooking, preparing, plating, presenting and storing a wide range of food items. The students gained valuable skills in customer service, further developing their communication and confidence building skills while engaging with a wide range of customers. We received wonderful feedback from the businesses, attesting to the students' employability skills, training and wonderful values shown while at placement. Avondale School would like to thank the local businesses for partnering with us to create wonderful learning opportunities for our students. The VET teachers are very proud of our students and their work ethic displayed throughout the week.
