Year 2 enjoyed a wonderful day of cultural learning and connection when they welcomed Rodney from the Yamuloong Centre for a First Nations Cultural Day.
Students explored Aboriginal culture, traditions and connection to Country through hands-on activities. Year 2 students made wattle seed damper, listened to traditional stories, sketched nature, played traditional games, designed boomerang artwork and created yarn sticks. Rodney also shared a collection of Aboriginal artefacts and even told stories of bush medicine and how to hunt for bush tucker! It was a fantastic day of curiosity, creativity and meaningful learning. We are grateful for Rodney for sharing his knowledge and helping students develop a deeper appreciation of Aboriginal culture and the rich history of the land on which our students learn and play.
