Last Wednesday morning, our Year 5 and 6 students had the privilege of hearing from Matthew Gray, an Olympic and Commonwealth Games archer. Matthew represented Australia across an impressive sporting career, including Olympic appearances from Atlanta 1996 through to Beijing 2008.During his visit, Matthew shared fascinating insights into his career as an elite athlete, along with many inspirational stories from his journey in sport. Students were especially excited by his show-and-tell presentation, which included medals, Olympic and Commonwealth Games uniforms, and other special items from his time competing at the highest level.Matthew’s visit gave our students a real connection to the world of elite sport and helped them better understand the dedication, resilience, and commitment required to achieve success. He left our students with a powerful message of encouragement and inspiration as they continue to pursue their own sporting goals and dreams.
