Our Year 5 students took part in the exciting Laser Cup Challenge as part of their Design and Technology lessons with Mrs Rijavec. Students designed, created, and refined their own laser-cut cars, learning valuable skills in digital design and engineering.
Using Adobe Illustrator, they drafted their car designs before bringing them to life with the school’s laser cutter. Once assembled, the cars were put to the test on the race track. After the initial time trials, the 16 fastest cars advanced to intense knockout rounds.
The competition was incredibly close, with impressive creativity and problem-solving on display from all students. In the end, Mia C claimed the title of Laser Cup Champion.
