What a trip! Year 6 enjoyed an action-packed adventure filled with new experiences, plenty of laughs, learning and, of course, a little bit of snow!
Our visit to Parliament House was a fantastic opportunity for students to learn more about Australian democracy and see where important decisions are made. We also took in the spectacular views from Mount Ainslie Lookout, giving everyone a chance to appreciate Canberra from above.
But the snow experience was certainly a highlight! Our hike from Charlotte Pass to Mount Stilwell challenged students to step outside their comfort zones, persevere and encourage one another along the way. The walk was no easy feat, but the students showed fantastic determination and resilience. There may also have been the occasional snowball flying through the air! Throughout the trip, students embraced every opportunity, supported their classmates and made memories that will last long after the snow melts.
A huge well done to our Year 6 students for their enthusiasm, resilience and excellent effort throughout the adventure. It was a trip to remember!
The Australian Government recognises the value of all young Australians visiting the National Capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education, and contributes $30 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards the cost of the excursion. This rebate is paid directly to the school after the trip.
