On Wednesday, our Year 6 students took us on a trip around the world - all without leaving the school! The World Travel Expo was buzzing with colour, energy, and excitement as our students proudly shared their countries, cultures, and creativity with a packed audience of family and friends.
This was more than just a fun evening - it was the culmination of a project-based learning task. Throughout Term 2, students had plenty of choice and voice in how they approached this task. Their goal? To persuade an audience that their country would be a top travel destination. The result was an explosion of creativity - from mouth-watering food samples and eye-catching displays to fascinating facts and engaging presentations.
We were blown away by the incredible turnout from our families and community. Thank you for encouraging and supporting your children’s ideas, for the time and energy you invested (even if much of it was in the days just before the event!), and for showing your children how much you value creativity, passion, and leadership in their learning. When our kids know they’ve got champions in their corner, they dive deeper, take bigger risks in their learning, and grow in confidence.
During the Term 2 preparation for this event, students were also building key competencies that will serve them well for life - citizenship, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity, and character. The Expo was the perfect opportunity to see all these skills in action, and our students rose to the challenge beautifully.
A huge thank you to every parent, carer, and community member who came along. You didn’t just attend an event - you helped create a moment these kids will remember and be proud of for years to come.
