Year 8 students stepped back in time for a wonderfully successful Medieval Day filled with adventure, teamwork, and plenty of laughter. The day provided a valuable cross-curricular learning experience, bringing together the History and Visual Arts curricula. Students were able to extend their classroom learning by exploring medieval history, culture, symbolism, design, and creativity through practical, hands-on activities.
Students enthusiastically participated in launching a trebuchet, storming the castle, maypole dancing, problem-solving challenges, jousting, and archery. A lively treasure hunt took them around the school before the day culminated in a shared medieval-style lunch.
The students embraced the occasion with enthusiasm, and their creative and colourful costumes added greatly to the atmosphere. It was a fantastic day of collaboration, active learning, and medieval fun!
