Stage 6 - PROPEL - English Studies


Course Overview

The English Studies course is designed to provide students with opportunities to become competent, confident and engaged communicators and to study and enjoy a breadth and variety of texts in English. English Studies focuses on supporting students to refine their skills and knowledge in English and consolidate their English literacy skills to enhance their personal, educational, social and vocational lives. (Source: p9 English Studies Stage 6 Syllabus, 2017)

This is a course that acknowledges that some students need a different pathway to end their school life. It is about offering differentiation and valuing the contributions of each individual student. (Source: Introduction English Teachers Association resource - Teaching English Studies)
